Alexander Sokolov, a member of the Council for Interethnic Relations and Chairman of the Multinational Russia Club, believes that the project of the strategy of national policy until 2025 may be discussed on October 8, Izvestia reports.
Ethnic accent will be banned during agitation and electoral campaigns. Developers of the project want to pass a law banning rehabilitation of Nazism and promotion of Nazi criminals. They want to form a public and state monitoring system to study materials and publications, in terms of their ethnic content. Reports would be sent to the Council for Interethnic Relations annually.
The document will promote cultural tourism. Special attention is paid to mass media to encourage consolidation. The strategy may see changes on October 4.
Realization of the program will cost about a billion rubles on the first stage within the framework of the federal purpose program for harmonization of interethnic peace. The next step is public discussions. The final version of the strategy will be presented to the president on December 1.
