Russia may increase penalties for violating immigration laws

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has proposed increasing penalties for violating immigration laws, Interfax reports.

He said the maximum penalty should amount to 300 thousand rubles, the maximum sentence to 5 years. In case of an organized group, the sentence can be more severe, amounting to 7 years in prison.
