FSB: North Caucasus cleared of notorious bandit leaders

The FSB said that no notorious militia leaders remain in the North Caucasus, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said, RIA Novosti reports.

"We were able to effectively deal with international terrorist organizations, whose leaders were in the North Caucasus, and today all the notorious leaders were gone," Bortnikov said at the end of the 11th meeting of the heads of special services in Moscow.

Bortnikov said that the international terrorist organization "Al-Qaeda" remains a threat to be reckoned with.
