Muslim Huchiyev, the mayor of Grozny, has quit his post. He is
currently being replaced by Islam Kadyrov, who until today was the Minister
of Property and Land Relations of the region, the website of the
regional government has announced.
This became known during a meeting of Ramzan Kadyrov with the government.
"The republic's government pays special attention to the land
question. We have been working in this direction for two years. But certain
municipal leaders continued to allocate the lands in contradiction with
the land legislation. These serious mistakes were made by the former
mayor of Grozny Muslim Huchiyev. Therefore he decided to quit.
Currently the responsibilities of the mayor have been transferred to Islam
Kadyrov. I hope that the deputies of Grozny City Council will
support him to the position of mayor," Ramzan Kadyrov said.
Ramzan Kadyrov was satisfied with the work of Islam Kadyrov as the
Minister for property and land relations. He noted that land in
the city should be given only to those companies and entrepreneurs
that are able to realize their projects on time and quickly create
jobs.
