Russia’s Caspian Fleet visits Azerbaijan

The “Tatarstan” flagship and MB-58 tugboat of the Caspian Fleet of Russia arrived at the Baku Port at 12 pm under command of Rear Admiral Sergey Alyokminsky. The visit will continue until Thursday. Russian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Vladimir Dorokhin and acting Military Attache Lientenant-Colonel Dmitry Markovsky will meet the delegation, News Azerbaijan reports.

Dorokhin, Alyokminsky and Markovsky will meet the Azerbaijani Naval Forces at 1 pm. They will visit the Azerbaijani Higher Naval School.

The Russian delegation will visit the Honorary Alley, lay flowers to the grave of Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev and visit the Alley of Sheikhs on Wednesday.

Azerbaijani officials and Russian diplomats will visit “Tatarstan” at 3 pm. Civilians will be allowed on the ship at 5 pm. Foreign attaches in Azerbaijan will be allowed at 6 pm. Visits will be organized to the History Museum of Azerbaijan, the State Flag Square.

The delegation will depart at 12 pm on October 11.

“Tatarstan” is a ship capable of hitting underwater, on-water and air targets. “Tatarstan” and MB-58 went enforced security the previous Tuesday and had training at the Aktau Port of Kazakhstan on Wednesday.
