The UN Security Council has extended the international operation in Afghanistan under NATO command for a year, spokesman of the UNSC Martin Nesirki said, RIA Novosti reports.
ISAF will stay in Afghanistan until October 13, 2013. Officials of 15 states of the UNSC approved gradual transition of power to Afghan law enforcers in late 2014.
NATO continues pursuit of Taliban and Al Qaeda terrorists in Afghanistan.
