Early elections to Israeli Knesset to take place on January 22

Early parliamentary elections in Israel will be held on January 22,
Gazeta reports referring to the agency EFE and official Israeli sources.

Elections were originally scheduled for October 2013. However, on
Tuesday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu officially
announced that he had decided to hold early elections.

Netanyahu explained his decision was due to the necessity of reaching an
agreement with members of the Cabinet of Ministers on the budget for
next year. Netanyahu and the current Cabinet of Ministers cannot come to
an agreement on this matter.
