Chechnya to spend $2.7 billion on hydro plant construction

Approximately 86 billion rubles (some $2.7 billion) of investment will be required for the realization of the largest energy project in Chechnya – the construction of 10 hydro plants on Argun River in the next 10-12 years, RIA Novosti reports, citing the Chechen minister of industry and energy.


Olguruz Abdulkerimov said that the first project involved the onstruction of only two hydro plants – Duba-yute and Chiri-yurte. Russian Premier Vladimir Putin has approved the project.
