A representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey
briefed the Russian Ambassador to Ankara Vladimir Ivanovsky about the
circumstances of the incident with the Syrian civilian plane that was
forced to land on Wednesday in the Turkish capital's airport, suspected of carrying arms, RIA-Novosti reports.
The Syrian Airbus A-320 airliner en route from Moscow to Damascus was
grounded by Turkish authorities at the airport in Ankara on Wednesday
night. There were 35 passengers on board, including 17 Russians. There
were also children among the passengers.
