The European Union has received a Nobel Peace Prize today, RIA Novosti reports.
231 candidates, including 43 public and international organizations, were registered as candidates for the prize.
The Nobel Prize has been awarded for socio-political and humanitarian efforts since 1901. It is worth $1.2 million. Oslo will host the awards on December 10, the day Alfred Nobel passed away. Four of the five Nobel Prizes are awarded in Stockholm.
