Russia's Security Council meets to discuss Syria

The Russian Security Council gathered on Thursday to discuss the Syrian crisis, RIA Novosti reports.

The council's meeting was chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, parliamentary speakers Valentina Matviyenko and Sergey Naryshkina and presidential staff head Sergey Ivanov were also present at the meeting.
