Some 13 PKK militants were killed during a special operation conducted by the Turkish military in Hakkari province, the online newspaper Sabah reported.
Clashes between militants and the army continue.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has been on-going for more than 25 years. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the European Union.
