Azerbaijani President meets with Iranian President

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met today with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Trend reports.

The participants in the meeting stressed the importance of the 12th Summit of the Economic Cooperation and expressed confidence that the event will contribute to the expansion of cooperation between the countries of the region.

Aliyev and Ahmadinejad expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iran in political, economic and cultural fields, and emphasized the good potential for expansion of ties in the economic field and trade, as well as energy, transport and other spheres.
