FMS representative office to continue working in Yerevan

The Federal Migration Service has no plans to close its representative
office in Yerevan, despite criticism from the leadership of Armenia of
the address of the Russian program of voluntary resettlement of
compatriots, Interfax reports referring to the first deputy head of
the Federal Migration Service of Russia, Ekaterina Yegorova.

"Unfortunately, the Armenian side does not take into account that
there are some economic reasons why Armenians leave the country,"
Yegorova said.

The Armenian side has expressed its negative attitude to the
implementation of the Russian state program "Compatriots" in Armenia.

Previously, Russian officials have stated that they aim to
provide a migration inflow of 300 thousand people a year
in the framework of the "Compatriots" program.
