Kakha Kaladze, a former football player and currently candidate for Minister for Energy, said that construction of small and medium dams will remain a priority in Georgia, Georgia Online reports.
He explained that large dams may cause ecological problems.
Kaladze wants to focus on renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power.
Candidate for Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili nominated Kaladze as the candidate for Energy Minister. The latter was initially to become the Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development. Ivanishvili noted that Kaladze will be ready to give comments to journalists in a month.
