Azerbaijan is marking the Day of Independence, Trend reports
The Independence Declaration was signed by the Supreme Council of Azerbaijan organized on August 30, 1991. The constitutional act on independence was passed on October 18, 1991.
The Azerbaijanis voted for passing of the constitutional act on December 29.
The state hymn by Uzeir Hajibekov and Ahmed Javad was approved in May 1992, followed by passing of the state flag and symbol.
The Independence Day in Azerbaijan is still a workday.
