A terrorist attack was prevented at the New York City center. 21-year old Kvazi Mohammad Rezvanul Akhsan Nafis from Bangladesh attempted to blow up a truck at the Federal Reserve Bank. The FBI replaced 450 kg of explosives in the truck with fake explosives in 20 bags, Vesti reports.
Nafis said he was an Al Qaeda member and wanted to destroy the US according to Osama bin Laden’s ideas.
Police officer Ray Kelly said that the terrorist used a student visa to enter the country. He entered the country alone and stopped at Queens. Facebook was used to buy bomb components.
Nafis planned to kill a high-ranking official of the government or Stock Exchange. There have been 15 attempts to attack Manhattan in 11 years.
