Mansur Arbabsiar, an Iranian American, has admitted an attempt to kill Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Washington Adel al-Jubeir in New York, ITAR-TASS reports.
The 58-year old Iranian admitted on Wednesday that he wanted to pay a Mexican drug dealer for the murder. He gave the killer $100,000.
The court will start hearings in January 2013. The Iranian may get 25 years of prison.
Arbabsiar lived in Mexico, He was often seen drunk. The man was accused of cooperating with the Army of Guardians of the Islamic Revolution. Golyam Shakuri from Iran worked at Al-Kuds. Arbabsiar was arrested at the Kennedy Airport on September 29, 2011. Shakuri is still on the wanted list.
