Stefan Fule and Deputy Secretary General for the External Action
Service Helga Shmidt visited Tbilisi today.
Stefan Fule said that the EU and Georgia continue the negotiations
about the free trade.
According to him, this issue will be discussed in Brussels on Friday.
Fule stressed that the EU demands the continuous process of the
preparation of these docuemnts. "There are no reasons to postpone the
negotiations because the new Georgian authorities clearly support the
integration with the EU", he siad.
Fule also mentioned that Georgia wants to start the negotiations with
Russia about the restoration with the trade realtions that can only
stabilize Russian-Georgian relations. "It is a positive step and it
does not contradict the negotiation between Georgia and the EU", Fule
stressed.
