Russia believes the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are more ready to integrate than the EU member states.
The head of the federal agency for cooperation, Georgy Muradov, said so while addressing attendees of the United Economic Space forum, which was recently held in Moscow.
"We should not adopt EU practices, we have our one way of integration. Our countries used to be one state, we share a lot of things, including a universal means of communication - the Russian language," he said.
