Georgia urges closer ties with Russia

The new Georgian government will try to change the country's relations with Russia for the better, future minister for foreign affairs Maya Pandzhikidze has announced.

She told RIA Novosti that even though foreign policy priorities won't change, as the country is still going to enhance ties with Nato and the EU, the government will also try to establish good relations with Russia.

"We are now working on re-establishing cultural and economic ties," she said.
