The Iranian Justice Ministry has restricted visits of the Evin Jail by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Ahmadinejad requested permission to visit the prison in early October after the arrest of one of his supporters. The ministry denied access. The Justice Ministry’s press secretary said that the country has many other problems the president should bother about, such as economics, growing prices.
The president has 8 months of office left. The denial of access serves to prove the Ahmadinejad’s dropping popularity.
