Iran has threatened to ban its citizens from visiting the United Arab Emirates, in response to the statement by the?UAE ambassador to the USA on Iran's nuclear program, RIA Novosti reports.
"The UAE authorities should clarify whether the disgusting comments of the country's ambassador reflect its policy," a representative of the committee on national security and foreign policy of Iran, Kazem Djalali, said.
The UAE ambassador to the USA recently supported use of military force as a means of resolving the?Iranian nuclear issue, in case the sanctions turn out?to be ineffective. He expressed this opinion in an interview to the Washington Times. According to the news agency Mehr information, Iranian citizens may be banned from visiting the UAE in order to protect them from ill-treatment.
Meanwhile, the statement of the UAE ambassador was refuted. The UAE authorities said this opinion was expressed in an?informal conversation and was misinterpreted.
