US and Israel say military drills were not warning for Iran

 

US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey say that the joint military drills with Israel were not a warning for Iran, ITAR-TASS reports.

The drills were annual and were organized within the framework of development of joint defenses. 

Panetta noted that the US was planning negotiations to persuade Iran to quit the nuclear program.

The US and Israel had military drills Austere Challenge 12 on October 21. About 1000 Israeli and 3500 US soldiers were mobilized for exercising.
