Lakhdar Brahimi will make his first visit to Moscow as the special UN and LAS envoy for Syria. He will discuss settlement of the Syrian crisis with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, RIA Novosti reports.
Lavrov will present a Russian view on settling the conflict.
Russian presidential representative for the Middle East, Mikhail Bogdanov, noted that Brahimi had no complex plan to settle the conflict. The UN official’s ideas were based on developments of Kofi Annan and decisions of the action group in June.
Efforts to bring peace to the region during Eid al-Adha failed and many violations were registered during the first day of the cease-fire.
