Karachay-Cherkessia builds bridges with Azerbaijan

A delegation from Karachay-Cherkessia headed by Rashid Temrezov has arrived in Baku. The aim of the visit is strengthening of economic and cultural ties between the North Caucasian republic of Russia and Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev welcomed the delegation in the Azeri capital. According to him, Azerbaijan has to seek new opportunities for improvement of cooperation with Russian constituents in all spheres, including economic ones.

Ilham Aliyev emphasized that “links between Azerbaijan and separate regions of Russia are very important for further development of Azerbaijani-Russian bilateral relations.” He is sure that the visit by the delegation will contribute to the activation and extension of bilateral relations.

The members of the Karachay-Cherkessia delegation will also hold meetings with the prime minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasi-zade and the minister for economic development, Shakhin Mustafayev. Today a business forum will take place where economic and investment proposals will be presented, and businessmen will consider certain projects directed at development of cooperation.

This visit is not the first contact between Karachay-Cherkessia and Azerbaijan. A year ago Rashid Temrezov met a delegation from Baku and stated that the republic's authorities were open for cooperation with investors. Cooperation is settled, and one of the main products exported from the republic to Azerbaijan is concrete.
