The Verkhny Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border has switched to the winter mode of operation until March 1, 2013. Crossing will only be available at 7 am – 7 pm, Yuga reports.
Georgian and Russian expert groups reached a related agreement under Armenian mediation in Yerevan on October 28, 2009, and under Swiss mediation on December 23, 2009.
Crossing the border at the checkpoint will be limited for vehicles with trailers and semitrailers and vehicles with over 30 passengers from November 1, 2012, to May 1, 2013.
