Spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Ramin Mehmanparast said that the country was ready for talks with the six mediators (Russia, UK, China, USA, France and Germany) and was expecting a reply to initiatives filed in June.
The goal of Iranian proposals is recognition of Iran’s right for nuclear energy based on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The six mediators called the proposals constructive and requested time to give a response.
Iran and the six mediators held talks in Istanbul on April 14 after over a year of break and in Baghdad on May 23-24. The latest talks were held in Moscow on June 18-19.
The six mediators and the IAEA have been persuading Iran to stop uranium enrichment since 2003.
