The largest city in Ingushetia, Nazran, will be linked with Moscow by a direct train. The new project has been launched today with the agreement on cooperation in the field of passanger transport signed by the daughter company of the Russian Railways, Federal Passanger Company and the Republic of Ingushetia.
The parties will develop an action plan, which will tackle the imporvement of the quality of passenger service and meeting the needs of the population of Ingushetia in the field of transportation.
A direct train from Moscow to Nazran will be the first in the history of Russia, Mikhail Akulov, the vice director of the Russian Railways said. Akulov added that one of the main goals of the project is to increase the frequency of trains.
Eventually the time of the train journey from Nazran to Moscow on the speed train will not exceed 30 hours.
