Turkey starts trial of Israeli officers of Mavi Marmara incident

 

Turkey is having a trial over 4 Israeli officers accused of murder of 9 Turks at the Freedom Flotilla in 2010 in Istanbul today, Kursor reports.

The officers include Gabi Ashkenazi, former head of the General Staff, Eliezer Marom, former Commander of the Naval Forces of Israel, Amos Yadlin, former Chief of Military Reconnaissance, Avishayu Levi, Commander of an air squadron.

Turkish prosecutors demand 18,000 years of prison for them. The charge sheet contains 144 pages.
