The President of the Buryat Republic, Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn, has invited the All-Russian Azerbaijani congress to hold their next meeting in 2011 in Baikal, ITAR-TASS reports.
At a meeting with a delegation from Baku headed by the vice-president of the congress, Afrant Dashdamirov, and the senior advisor of Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia, Atalar Atamoglam, he said that Buryatia has become a center for large forums and has experience in welcoming guests. He noted that they have a 3000-strong Azerbaijani community, which is one of the most organized Azeri communities in Russia.
The delegation arrived in Ulan-Ude to take part in the meeting of Azerbaijani communities from the Siberian Federal District. Dashdamirov said that the Russian community in Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani community in Russia are a recipe for successful cooperation between the two countries that keeps improving.
