Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev believes that ousted defense minister Anatoly Serdyukov was a rather successful official, ITAR-TASS reports on Tuesday.
However, the prime minister admits that evidence of the corruption, which has stained the minister's name, should be fully disclosed.
Anatoly Serdyukov served as Russian minister of defense from 2007. He was the main sponsor of the large-scale military reform aimed at decreasing the number of high-ranking officers and optimizing defense spending, a move which made him very unpopular among Russian generals.
