Ukraine assists Azerbaijan in training space specialists

Ukraine and Azerbaijan are jointly organizing cooperation in space industry staff training, Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko told reporters, Trend informs.

"The National Aviation Academy of Azerbaijan (NAAA) with the participation of Dnipropetrovsk National University (DNU) named after O. Gonchar, began training Azerbaijani specialists in the space industry," he said.
He noted that the NAAA, with the participation of the faculty of Dnipropetrovsk, started the training of 60 students for the following specialities:  space technology engineering, space techniques engineering, space technology and space management systems engineering, and a master's degree in space engineering techniques and technologies in the 2012-13 academic year.

Azerbaijan's first telecommunication satellite (Azerspace-1) will be delivered to the Kourou spaceport in late 2012, and its launch is scheduled for the first decade of February 2013.
