Islam Kadyrov, acting mayor of Grozny, has become the city’s mayor, the Chechen government reports.
Islam Kadyrov used to be the Minister for Property and Land. His ministry was rated as the best three months after formation of the new Cabinet, as stated by Abubakar Edelgeriyev.
Kadyrov used to chair the commission for disasters and Vice Premier of Chechnya.
Grozny Mayor Muslim Khuchiyev resigned in October for violations in managing land.
