President of Georgia visits Ukraine

Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili left on a working visit to Ukraine on Friday. During the visit he is to meet with his Ukrainian colleague Viktor Yanukovich, who is celebrating his 60th birthday, Georgian ambassador Grigol Katamadze told «Ukrainskaya Pravda».

President Saakashvili is on a one-day visit to Kiev and will congratulate Yanukovich, but he will not participate in the festive events or in the CIS Summit, due to be held on the 10th of July. Georgia officially seceded from the Commonwealth of Independent States after the Georgian-Ossetian conflict in 2008.
