Kapanadze becomes Chief of Georgian Joint Staff

 

Vakhtang Kapanadze will replace Georgy Kalandadze as the acting Chief of Georgian Joint Staff.

Kalandadze was released from prison on bail. President Mikheil Saakashvili ordered him to return to supervision of the Joint Staff.

Prosecutors demanded dismissal of the official, approved by the Tbilisi City Court. Commander of the 4th Infantry Brigade Zurab Shamatava and former Interior Minister Bacho Akhalaya were dismissed as well.
