Saakashvili congratulates Yanukovich on his 60th birthday

A meeting between the Presidents of Georgia and Ukraine took place yesterday in Kiev in a friendly atmosphere, according to the Georgian presidental press office. This is the first meeting between Saakashvili and Yanukovich, reports Trend, and took place on the initiative of the Ukrainian side. Main festive events will be held today, on the day of an informal CIS summit. The Georgian president will not participate in the CIS Summit, as Georgia officially seceded from the Commonwealth of Independent States in August 2008.
