10 groups with a total of 1000 law enforcers have moved from Chechnya to Dagestan to normalize the situation, Dagestani Interior Minister Major-General Abdurashid Magomedov said, RIA Dagestan reports.
The minister said that Dagestan had 54 police officers per 10,000 citizens, like in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Chechnya has 115 officers per 10,000 citizens.
Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov expressed discontent with excess of checkpoints in the republic. The Council for Economic and Public Security of Chechnya halved the number of checkpoints. Secretary of the council Salambek Ismailov said that 28 checkpoints were unnecessary due to peace and stability in the region. Chechnya proposed moving 17 of them to Dagestan.
10 temporary police offices moved to Dagestan. Specialists were sent for search operations in mountains and forests. 1700 officers from Chechnya were involved in such operations in Dagestan in July.
