 Coup commission invites Turkish PM to testify

Parliament's Coup and Memorandum Investigation Commission has invited Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to testify about the post-modern coup of 1997 and the April 27 e-memorandum of 2007, commission spokesperson İdris Şahin has said.

 

The commission’s chairwoman, Nimet Baş, will decide on the time and details of the meeting.

 

Erdoğan has the option of responding to the commission’s questions via a written statement.

 

Erdoğan's statements on the two incidents are expected to throw light on the issue.
