US Assistant State Secretary arrives in Tbilisi

This evening US Assistant State Secretary Philip Gordon arrived in
Tbilisi. He will have a number of meetings with the new government.
Gordon said he was very happy to be back in Georgia and to start
negotiating with the new government.

At first Gordon will visit the Parliament, then he will hold talks
with Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili. A meeting with
Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze is scheduled for Saturday.

The theme of the meeting will be preparations for the visit of
Ivanishvili to the US, scheduled for late November.

It is still not know whether Gordon is going to meet with President
Mikheil Saakashvili.
