Kadyrov calls on human rights activists to carry on a dialogue

The President of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, claims that nothing threatens human rights activists in the Chechen Republic. "I am puzzled by the statements of certain human rights associations about an alleged menace to the lives of their activists in the Republic . This problem is far-fetched. Nothing threatened them and nothing threatens them now", underlined the president, Interfax reports.

Speaking about the "Memorial" organisation, the president has stressed that no one was trying to interrupt its activity. "The authorities are ready to co-operate with the institutions of civil society", the president said.
