Kazakh Deputy Prosecutor General Iohann Merkel noted at the conference on terrorism control that religious radicalism was on the rise in Kazakhstan.
He emphasized that radicalists were recruiting the poor and socially unsecure young people with little knowledge of religion and traditional Islam.
