Eight militants of the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), including four women, were killed in clashes between militants and gendarmerie forces earlier today in the southern province of Bingöl, daily Hürriyet has reported.
The militants were commanded to surrender, but they responded by opening fire. Security forces then launched an air operation targeting the militants.
Clashes are reportedly still continuing in some parts of the region.
