The Russian parliament will consider the bill on punishments for illegal migration. Migrants violating the Russian border for the second time will be jailed for up to 4 years, organizers of illegal migration to 5-6 years, RIA Novosti reports.
32,287 foreigners were banned from the country in 2011, 725 were deported, 84 underwent readmission.
119 were banned in the first half of 2011. 60 were unwelcome in the country. 20,600 were not granted access to the country in 2011 (14,600 in 2008, 18,400 in 2009, 19,400 in 2010).
591 foreigners were banned by the FSB in 2009-2011 after changing name. There were 162 such foreigners in 2009, 138 in 2010 and 291 in 2011.
