Russia’s patriarch calls on Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey to reconcile

Patriarch of Moscow and all-Russia Kirill has urged Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey to forget their differences and not become hostages to past events, Armenia Today reports.“Yesterday we celebrated a burial service and prayed for the victims of Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915. It’s very important that Armenian society remembers this” Patriarch Kirill said.

But at the same time he stressed that “to keep inside the fire of hate is a dead-end path”.

“This shouldn’t prevent the development of relations, including those between Armenia and Turkey” the patriarch said.
