The constitutional commission of Egypt has approved a new Constitution project and will pass it for approval of President Mohamed Morsi and then the referendum, chairman of the commission Husam al-Garyani said, RIA Novosti reports.
Commentaries to 234 articles of the Constitution will be published in 48 hours. The Shariah Law was not included in the document.
The Constitution allows the president to stay in office for 4 years per term with only one re-election.
The old Constitution was scrapped after the fall of President Hosni Mubarak’s regime in spring 2011.
