Eight members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed in clashes Nov. 29 in the eastern province of Hakkari

The Turkish Armed Forces launched operations in the area after unmanned vehicles picked up footage of the militants on Nov. 28.
The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union and the United States.
