The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) wants to grant NATO access to Ulyanovsk to transit cargo to ISAF in Afghanistan, RIA Novosti reports.
Transit will contribute to stabilization in Afghanistan and security in Central Asia.
NATO confirmed readiness to follow Russian rules for transit. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that speculations about formation of a NATO base or any other military facilities in Russia were false.
