Leaders of the CIS are having a summit in Ashkhabad (Turkmenistan) with over 20 documents for discussions. A declaration for the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War is the first document to be considered.
Attendants of the summit will discuss security, threats and challenges, an agreement on formation of a council of financial observers, development of CIS missile defenses.
Presidents will talk about chairmanship of the CIS economic court, supervision of the CIS counter-terrorism center, chairmanship of the coordinating committee for air defenses.
Valentina Matviyenko, head of the Council of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the CIS will present a report on strengthening integration processes.
The leaders plan to announce 2013 as the CIS Year for Ecological Culture and Environmental Protection.
