Georgian president offers PM closed-door talks

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili offered Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili to have eye-to-eye talks to settle their differences, ITAR-TASS reports.

The president offered to pass control over interior affairs to Ivanishvili’s government and focus on foreign affairs for the remaining months of his presidency, until October 2013.

Saakashvili fears that their controversies may force western states to stop supporting the country and weaken Georgian in the light of Russian influence.

A spokesman of Ivanishvili said that the prime minister was skeptical about the ability of Saakashvili to co-exist.
